11 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (7 Sept)

2. Round Three Delivers

Hangman Page Bryan Danielson
AEW

Putting a match with a ****1/2+ ceiling on last night's Dynamite was necessary last night. Tony Khan would have likely wanted to deliver a show that was quintessentially each of Dynamite's biggest strengths. So after delivering the all-action spot-heavy blast early on, he put established in-ring rivals 'Hangman' Adam Page and Bryan Danielson together to complete their trilogy.

This perhaps wasn't as stunning as the duo's first two instalments. Still, it was appropriately great. Revolving largely around Danielson softening Hangman's right arm up to neutralise the Buckshot Lariat and soften Page up for the LeBell Lock, it also had Page utilising his power and explosiveness advantages to good effect, dropping the majority of the match's biggest bombs to generate rich, organic drama.

Danielson's hard work ultimately paid off. He had scouted the Buckshot, which may have landed had Page had more strength to swing his arm, and countered it into an O'Connor Roll. This produced the three-count for Danielson's first win over Hangman in AEW.

This is the kind of match you get into All Elite Wrestling for.
