There have been a number of stars created in Impact Wrestling throughout 2020 which we'll cover in due time, but for every positive push, there have also been a number of stars held back by the result of their booking.

Let's look at Ace Austin and Madman Fulton, for example. The former started the year as X Division Champion before dropping the title in April, and since aligning with the former oVe monster a few weeks after, 'The One True Ace' was able to maintain a steady push up the card. Ace even main evented Slammiversary in a World Championship outing, and he and Fulton also challenged for the World Tag Team Championships at the biggest Impact event of the year, albeit in unsuccessful fashion

Since their title conquest failure, though, Ace and Madman are yet to reappear, bar a sole appearance each on Impact's meaningless secondary show, Xplosion. What gives? Their return has since been announced for the first Impact of the new year, but there's been no explanation given as to why the duo haven't shown their faces since the 24 October Bound For Glory pay-per-view. For two guys that had previously been major talking points for the promotion, this couldn't go unnoticed.

Then there's Trey Miguel of The Rascalz, a man who started 2020 by challenging for the aforementioned X Division Championship against Ace, and ended up departing the company by the end of November, albeit on his own terms alongside now-WWE Performance Center recruits, Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz. Between January and then, though, 'The Fresh Prince of Mid-Air' had been terribly underutilised. Of course, it feels weird typing that when he literally main evented Slammiversary, but he was essentially there to fill a space. His absence wouldn't have been noticeable, really.

He debuted his power slide Canadian Destroyer at least, so, yay?
