11 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Sep 9)

2. Welcome To AEW

Tay Conti
AEW

Nice to see Tay Conti scoring a full-time AEW gig with yesterday's news. She's an incomplete prospect but an exciting one, and it'll be interesting to follow her development over the next few years.

Unfortunately, her squash loss to Nyla Rose was largely ineffective. The length was an issue, with the clash stretching through a commercial break, and 'The Native Beast' absorbed too much offense for it to be successful in getting her over. Her Beast Bomb out of Conti's arm triangle submission was an excellent finish, though the number one contender struggled with a newcomer at times. The difference should be more pronounced.

Conti likely isn't somebody AEW wants to all-out squash. If that's the case, another opponent would have been more appropriate. Rose battering an enhancement talent within two minutes would have hit harder.
