11 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Sep 9)

10. Jungle Boy Capitalises

Jungle Boy roll up
AEW

Jungle Boy is emerging as one of the smarter babyfaces on the roster. This was emphasised through the finish to last night's clash with the Lucha Brothers, where the Jurassic Express man shoved Rey Fenix into Pentagon's attempted top rope Destroyer, then rolled the high-flyer up, scoring the win against the run of play.

These wins are framed as opportunistic, not lucky, and that makes all the difference. It would be easy to make Jungle Boy look like a fluke artist here. Instead, they are booked to be taken as feats of ingenuity. It works.

The match itself was good, though perhaps not as wild as many would have expected. Fenix was his usual smooth self, Penta busting Luchasaurus up with kicks was fun, and the big man had the biggest highlight himself, Chokeslamming Rey off the top rope. FTR working heat on Jungle Boy for Luchasaurus' hot tag is going to rule.
