11 Ups & 4 Downs For Impact Wrestling In 2020 (So Far)
1. The Entire Knockouts Division
Over the years, the X division has been the preferred division to watch by the majority of Impact fans. However, in more recent times, that focus has shifted away from the high-flying stars to focus more attention on the Knockouts division, with Impact Wrestling having what many consider to be the greatest women's roster in wrestling today.
From high-profile stars like Taya Valkyrie, Deonna Purrazzo, and current Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace to rising names such as Kylie Rae, Tasha Steelz, and Kiera Hogan, the division has everything it needs to succeed. Unlike some other promotions, the stories within the Knockouts division aren't just focused around the championship (currently held by 'Thicc Mama Pump'). At the time of writing, the title rivalry is Grace vs. Purrazzo, but we've also got wars going on between the teams of Steelz and Hogan, and Havok and Nevaeh, while Valkyrie and Rosemary, as well as Rae and Susie, have only recently formed teams themselves. That's what helps make the division as diverse as possible.
Additionally, Impact management went out of their way to continue adding to an already stacked division during these uncertain times, making them stand out for positive reasons compared to WWE's infamous Black Wednesday releases. Since we entered the no crowd era, Kimber Lee, Tasha Steelz, Kylie Rae, Nevaeh, and Deonna Purrazzo have all made for excellent additions to the women's roster in Impact Wrestling, while ODB and Tenille Dashwood also resurfaced for a brief period of time earlier in the year. Adding them to the roster that was, as previously mentioned, already packed full of talent has assisted Impact in proving to their critics that they care deeply about women in wrestling.
Regardless of your opinion of Impact as a company, you can no longer deny the effort they put into making the Knockouts division the greatest group of talent in wrestling.
