11 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Dec 4)

1. Grimes Against Humanity

NXT has taken pelters for this particular trope of late, but this variant was the worst of the bunch because of the players involved.

Cameron Grimes decked Raul Mendoza before he made it to the ring to take his place in Kushida's return match, in that way that just seems to happen in NXT. AEW fans shower praise on that product when they should merely sprinkle it, but this has been exposed more than ever since Dynamite's debut - it makes less than no sense and simply shouldn't be a thing.

Not least when the outcome is a five minute ill-matched and ill-advised bore.

This failed as a hot return vehicle for Kushida, failed the already fragile push of Cameron Grimes And His Hat, and even failed Mendoza - a guy sort of getting over before the Cruiserweight on NXT was used like a Cruiserweight on Raw.
