11 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Oct 9)

9. Starting Hot

AEW Dynamite kicked straight into a fire match for the second week running last night - and it ruled.

While main roster WWE shows tend to begin with a big talking segment, AEW roll straight into a hot bout featuring over stars to take advantage of the fired-up crowd from Dynamite's first minute. It's a smart tactic for now. The quality of the action is key, of course, but if you're trying to market yourself as a more wrestling-centric promotion, it makes great sense to get straight to it.

There will come a time when AEW need to start switching things up with these show openings, but this will never be a major concern unless the matches start to wane. If they deliver, it's fine.
