6. Shane & Miz Get Meta

Shane McMahon strode out with his goons for his obligatory in-ring talking segment as SmackDown crossed into its second hour, with 'The Best in the World' claiming Drew McIntyre would "kick *ss and take names" in his Stomping Grounds match with Roman Reigns before the burly Scot shot a few bullets of his own.

This led to The Miz's introduction, and that's when things got interesting. Their back-and-forths are often entertaining, and this was the same, with 'The A-Lister' hitting out at McMahon's privilege, with Shane calling out his foe's "daddy issues," noting that "it's not my fault that my dad is a billionaire whereas your dad comes from dirt - a baked potato."

Things got meta thereafter, with Miz speaking for the fans as he complained about Shane "sucking up all the airtime to feed his ego and serve his friends." "I am sick of it!", he said, "we are sick of it," before blaming himself for "creating a monster at World Cup." Note the writers' refusal to mention Crown Jewel by name, there. Scamps.

That this ties in with the audience's general complaints regarding Shane's push is a rare sign of self-awareness, even if 'The Best in the World' isn't always the boogeyman he's made out to be.
