It may just be me, but I'm utterly convinced that Alex Shelley could be one of the biggest singles wrestlers on the planet. He seems to have everything going for him, but he's never quite received the assistance from creative teams that he deserved.

This was especially true in TNA. They flirted with Shelley as the X-Division champion, having him win the belt in 2009 by defeating tag team partner Chris Sabin, only to lose it very quickly afterwards to Suicide.

Alex Shelley is a fantastic in-ring performer with the microphone and character skills to back it all up. Why he only got a cup of coffee X-Division reign is beyond me.

Shelley and Sabin experienced a decent amount of tag success, but here was a singles star waiting to explode.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
