Everyone's favourite rookie-hazing dropkick master is one tough man, of that there is no doubt at all. One need only watch his match in the reformed ECW where a table put an enormous gash in his back to see that. However, he also has a reputation for being a bit hard on the new blood and such was the case when he faced Brock Lesnar during Lesnar's first monster push in WWE.

Towards the end of the match Lesnar attempts to lift Holly into powerbomb position. The scuttlebutt is that Holly refused to cooperate with the move, leaving Lesnar to hoist him up with brute strength alone and dump him directly onto his neck.

The result was a broken neck that kept Holly out of action for over a year. However, it did also indirectly lead to Holly's first, and only, main event push when he returned to do battle against Lesnar for the WWE Championship in an effort to exact revenge.
