7. The Bar Vs. Kofi Kingston

The Shield
WWE

An excitable New Day/Vince McMahon backstage vignette was literally too good to be true when the company in fact revealed that the gaffer had booked the fan favourite against The Bar for an extended sh*tkicking.

The intention was clear enough and received as required by the narked Cleveland crowd, but Kofi Kingston as the bullied babyface didn't have as much juice to it in comparison to the devil-may-care dare-and-do from the dying embers of the Elimination Chamber.

This sort of thing is a way to push Kingston, but is it the right one? The Bar didn't exactly look brilliant in victory, especially not when fears of a League Of Nations 2.0 were realised by late run-ins from The New Day and their pre-show opponents Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev.

A decidedly midcard evening in the midcard for current midcarder Kofi then. He's already been anointed Number One Contender by WWE fans and the company haven't yet burned through the good will - here's hoping they relight the fire after Fastlane's booking failed to fan any flames.
