This was absolutely everything expected of it, and not a single move more. Whether this is a compliment or insult to the contest still isn't entirely clear.

Gradually grabbing the audience in a match that patiently waited for the crowd to catch their breath from the prior banger, Kofi Kingston and Kevin Owens put in a shift and a half in the early stages to little noise before bringing the bulk of the crowd along for a blinding battle late on.

Kingston surviving a pop-up powerbomb and stunner left the challenger bereft of ideas but not invention - 'KO' took Kofi's shoes off presumably to take the sting out of a Trouble In Paradise - but Kofi's counter of a swanton bomb with his knees freed him up to hit the finisher anyway.

The semi main event was the last contest not for one of the big briefcases, but the finish told the story of the night itself - seven singles title matches across the male and female divisions, seven pins. With the potential to dish out Whatever damage they might be doing to this current era on television, they seem intent on fixing on pay-per-view.
