11 WWE Poster Boys That Didn't Make The Pay-Per-View

6. Edge - Survivor Series 2007 & TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2009

Edge has had his fair share of injuries over the years, and his elevation to the main event didn't see a slowing down when it came to his susceptibility to pick up tears and breaks. I genuinely think that Edge's career was going to be a true all-time one, but injuries stopped him fully reaching his true potential.

As a result, he had to cram a load of greatness into short runs that we've all convinced ourselves were great.

Edge has missed two shows that featured him as the main man on the poster. The first of these came towards the end of 2007 at the Survivor Series. An injured pectoral muscle had forced the Rated-R Superstar to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship, the belt that was defended in the main event of Survivor Series when he returned.

The man that Edge attacked in the main event of Survivor Series was doing a pretty healthy number of him on the poster for TLC in 2009. Edge was going through a table as the photo was taken for the advertisement, but a torn achilles tendon six months before the show meant Edge was nowhere to be seen by the time it came around.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
