11 WWE Poster Boys That Didn't Make The Pay-Per-View

4. Batista - The Bash 2009

Despite the inherently summery feel of the pay-per-view, the poster for 2009's The Bash comes off as being ever so slightly cold. It features the Animal, Batista, a man who had won the WWE Championship earlier in the year only be forced into forfeiting the strap. Batista suffered a legitimate tear in his overly-large biceps, putting him on the shelf.

As a result of Batista's vacating of the title, Randy Orton won a four-way to become the new champion and immediately found himself in a feud (once again) with Triple H. Just think of how bored we all are with Orton and Cena now, and add Triple H to it.

As a result of Batista's gimpy arm, the main event of The Bash was Randy Orton vs. Triple H in a Three Stages of Hell match. Orton won, but Batista wouldn't return for another three months.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
