11 WWE Title Changes That MUST Happen In 2023
2. WWE Championship - Seth Rollins
The Roman Reign of terror has been nothing but good business, for sure. That said, it’s imperative that WWE ends with a bang, not a whimper. The Universal Championship is the big one. First, though, there’s the venerable WWE Championship, and that must go to Reigns’ erstwhile SHIELD teammate, Seth Rollins.
There’s a strong argument to be made that Rollins is the most reliable wrestler in the world right now, an in-ring performer who just can’t miss. Cody, Riddle, Lashley, Owens, Cesaro, Reigns himself - everyone has a great match when they work with him.
What’s more, he’s phenomenally over right now, to the extent that he really ought to be turned face sooner rather than later. WWE often miss the boat when it comes to a Rollins allegiance shift, but read the room - the guy’s beloved, and rightly so.
Crucially, Roman shouldn’t be pinned by Seth - the title could change hands in a ladder match, or a multi-man. But Rollins needs to be champ again. At last year’s Rumble, a big point was made that Roman has never bested Rollins - and that still remains the case. By all rights, these two company men should be locked in combat forever.
