6. Papa Shango

Charles Wright has shown a great deal of range with his characters in WWF. The Godfather and Kama both left an impression in wrestling history, but his Papa Shango character ended up getting the biggest push by far. Though his voodoo aesthetic may have seemed too hokey for the older members of the audience, it was certainly taken seriously by the booking staff, who gave him a role in the return of the Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania VIII - even if he did miss his cue.

Despite having one of the biggest botches in WrestleMania history, Vince and company were still high on him. Months after his disastrous botch, Shango would end up headlining an episode of Saturday Night's Main Event against Bret Hart.

Bret was still getting used to his role as the new top dog of the company. He and Shango put together a match that didn't pass ten minutes, and failed to impress both fans and critics alike, with Shango tapping out to Bret's Sharpshooter. If Bret Hart can't carry a wrestler to three stars, something has to change.

Still, there was plenty of success to be enjoyed after that, as Shango would become Kama, before later joining the Nation of Domination. He'd go through another metamorphosis and become The Godfather, getting the Intercontinental title with the Ho Train following close behind.
