11 WWF Title Challengers No One Remembers

5. Virgil

Virgil isn't remembered for much other than losing, lying, and being cheap, and that's a reputation that followed him in just about every promotion he worked for.

Formerly the man servant of WWF's top heel, The Million Dollar man, Virgil would turn face in genuinely one of the hottest moments any wrestler could have. Unfortunately, once he was on his own, the cracks in his facade began to show. He had a limited moveset, no real physical charisma, and a lack of conviction whenever he was on the microphone. This combination created a character who fans couldn't get behind, and one that the booking team could easily throw out there whenever they needed someone to take a loss.

His short loss against Bret Hart during a Superstars taping was just as forgettable as all his other matches.

Virgil would go on through the rest of his career without any real direction or momentum. He'd continue eating pins and tapping out in the WWF before switching over to WCW, putting on the nWo t-shirt and continuing his losing ways down south.

If nothing else, Virgil is still held in some high regard by fans, if ironically, for his persistent appearances at wrestling conventions, and his bombastic Twitter profile.
