12 Best WWE Insults Of 2016

4. "If You Were On Life Support I'd Pull The Plug And Charge My IPhone"

Poor old Byron Saxton. He really is the butt of everyone's jokes on Raw, and the arrival of Corey Graves hasn't changed that. Saxton is still treated like the Meg Griffin of WWE commentary, with even Michael freakin' Cole getting in on the act from time to time. It seems no one likes Byron.

You could choose any one of a number of anti-Byron jibes, but the worst for me came from none other than John Bradshaw Layfield at Extreme Rules this year. During the four-way match for the Intercontinental Championship, JBL told Byron, "if you were on life support I'd pull the plug and charge my iPhone."

Ouch. Not only does this acknowledge the poor battery life of Apple's phone product, it also shows little to no regard for the life of Byron Saxton. JBL on the whole really has been more serviceable throughout the year, one of the many beneficiaries of the 2016 brand split.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
