1. "You're The Coward"

2016 has been a strange year. When making predictions ahead of time, no one would have guessed that the most heated promo segment would involve The Miz and would take place on a WWE Network talk show. After years of failed attempts to make the title relevant once more, all it took was a verbal battle between then-champion Miz and SD Live GM Daniel Bryan to elevate the Intercontinental Championship to something worth caring about.

It seemed as though the most memorable words were going to come from Bryan, as he labelled Miz a 'coward' for the way he wrestles. Instead of sitting back and taking this, Miz threw himself into a tirade that may well have resurrected his own career, bringing up valid points about never missing time and being as dependable as they come.

A heel is a heel however, and he dug the knife into Bryan regarding his early retirement. He taunted Bryan about staying in WWE, to the point where Bryan had no choice but to walk off. This just sparked Miz further, with him screaming at Bryan, "you're the one who walks away every single time! You're the coward!"

Was it scripted? Probably. Does it matter? Not in the slightest. They say that the best promos come from a place of truth, and Miz's words were positively dripping in the stuff. The only downside was that it could never lead to The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan inside the ring, unless Bryan is going to get one-time clearance further down the line. We can but dream.
