A friendship that lasted fifteen years slowly turned to envy over the past few months. Defending NWA Champion Nick Aldis grew jealous of his friend's popularity and challenger Marty Scurll lusted after the "Ten Pounds of Gold". Over the next twenty-plus minutes the now-rivals exchanged traditional holds inside the ring and violently brawled outside of it.

Aldis quickly amped up the violence, chokeslamming Scurll through a table on the floor. A superkick and subsequent suicide dive by "The Villain" left the defending champion's face a hideous crimson as it poured with blood. Back inside, Aldis delivered a powerbomb before attempting his King's Lynn Cloverleaf. However, Marty grabbed the champ's hand and snapped his fingers before hitting a Cross Rhodes - a nod to his Elite brother and Aldis' past rival, Cody.

With the referee then accidentally laid out, Aldis' so-called "insurance policy" attempted to spear Scurll. However, Nick stepped in Kamille's path and told her to leave. The sign of respect from the champion to his former friend quickly proved foolish as Marty gleefully low-blowed Aldis.

Marty finally locked in his signature Crossface Chickenwing, but Aldis managed to escape before catching Scurll in the Cloverleaf. Blood streaked across the champ's face as he synched the hold in tighter, finally forcing Scurll to tap out.
