Following the main event, the longtime friends embraced before Marty took the microphone to praise "The National Treasure" as being the most deserving NWA Worlds Champion possible. Nick similarly touted Scurll as the biggest self-made star in the industry today.

While Aldis ended the night victorious, much attention still surrounds "The Villain". Aided by hints and allusions on the "Being The Elite" YouTube series, it's been speculated that Marty will eventually find his way to All Elite Wrestling. Nothing is yet certain, but if Scurll does separate from ROH, he may not be alone.

Rumors have also started in regard to ROH and the NWA's relationship - thanks in most part to comments made by Aldis himself. In an interview with SportingNews.com conducted days prior to the Crockett Cup, he hinted at a possible severance coming down the pike. Never shy about his true feelings, Nick seemed to take particular umbrage with his lack of inclusion on the G1 Supercard at Madison Square Garden - stating that he wished to defend the NWA belt there but that ROH just "didn't want it."
