12 Biggest Stories From The Crockett Cup And What The NWA's Future Holds

7. Two Of ROH's Best Upset By Wildcard Tandem

Many fans in attendance and watching live on pay-per-view were shocked to see Thomas Latimer and Royce Issacs win the night's opening battle royal and earn their way into the Crockett Cup tournament. The surprises continued in the first round with the makeshift duo's defeat of the heavily favored War Kings, but still another shock was on the horizon.

The turning point of the bout came when Gordon missed a 450 splash which left him clutching his recently repaired knee - an injury which kept him out of action for months and only recently saw him return.

Isaacs and Latimer quickly targeted the injury, preventing Flip from tagging in Bandido. Eventually he broke free, but Latimer yanked Bandido off the apron, giving his partner the opportunity to rollup the injured Flip for another surprise win en route to the tournament's final round.
