12 Biggest Stories From The Crockett Cup And What The NWA's Future Holds

6. The Briscoes Condemn The NWA Following Disqualification

Villain Enterprises and the Briscoe Brothers - both of whom have substantial claims to being Ring of Honor's top team - met in what could have been a classic match, but instead quickly devolved into a wild brawl. PCO was dealt major damage after Jay Briscoe avoided a senton, leaving the Quebecer to crash hard into the ring apron. However, Brody King quickly evened the score by slamming Mark onto the exposed concrete floor.

Eventually, all four competitors reentered the ring, this time with steel chairs in hand. The Briscoes batted away PCO's chair before cracking King over the head, leaving the referee no choice but to disqualify Mark and Jay - thus eliminating them from the tournament.

Obviously incensed with the decision, Dem Boys immediately attacked the ref before turning their attention toward PCO - tangling his arm in a chair before Jay dove onto it with a senton from the top rope. The Briscoes then took to the microphone to swear off the Crockett Cup and the NWA as a whole before finally departing. Thanks to the attack, it was clear PCO's arm had been injured and it was questionable if he would be able to compete in the night's final round.
