At five million dollars a year, Brock Lesnar is a very expensive wrestler. When WWE first made that deal in 2012, the company operated as a pay per view business. It was fairly good value based upon Lesnar being the UFC's biggest PPV draw and the idea he'd impact WWE business in the same way. But now in the Network era, the monthly pay per views aren't swayed by names like Lesnar. Instead, the WWE Network holds a consistent number of subscribers throughout the year. At least in theory. Lesnar saw this happen in 2014, when his presence failed to significantly impact SummerSlam. From WWE's point of view, they can't justify paying him like he is Brock Lesnar in 2012. He's still a megastar, but he's also a waste of cash based on his money to dates ratio. WWE also have to blame themselves, as they killed a lot of Lesnar's value by booking him like a loser. What were they thinking when they jobbed him out to John Cena and Triple H in the space of his first year back? Also, stop booking him to show up on Raw without actually doing anything. What's the point?
