10. Sheamus
This isn't necessarily a dig at Sheamus, but he is paid like a top guy, when the reality shows him to be a midcard guy. Part of the blame for that has to fall on WWE's shoulders. The guy is a great brawler, has a good look, can talk, and his merchandise does ok. But WWE shoved him down fan throats as a babyface for what feels like years. The result? We're all sick of him. Even when he takes a hiatus and comes back, he's still boring. As a heel or a face, we've seen it all before. At this point he's damaged goods and not a natural fit for the main event scene. The business has moved on and there's a new generation taking the main event berths - guys like Reigns, Rollins, Wyatt, Ambrose and Bryan. It's hard to see a spot for Sheamus. Veterans like Cena and Orton are accepted in the main event scene based upon their successful past, but Sheamus never really hit the heights. WWE should accept that he's never going to be the guy they want him to be. Stop paying him like a main eventer and allow him to function as a natural midcarder. Sheamus is reportedly on a million dollars a year, but at 37 years old he's had his peak. When his next contract comes up, WWE won't be so wasteful in their offer.
