12 Bizarre Pieces Of Trivia About WWE Action Figures

7. Rey Mysterio's First Figure Was An Accessory For The Giant

These days, Rey Mysterio stands tall (well, sort of) among his peers. Not only is he a multi-time champion across numerous organizations, but he can also claim reigns with both the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and WWE Championship among his many conquests. And just like any other Superstar to have achieved such greatness, his action figures are capable of standing on their own on store shelves around the world. That wasn't always the case, though. Back when WCW partnered with Toy Biz to get a more substantial piece of the pie, the first wave of Smash 'n Slam Wrestlers included Hollywood Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Sting, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Lex Luger, "Diamond" Dallas Page, The Giant, and Rey Mysterio (Jr.). But not all figures were created equal. Truth be told, saying Rey Mysterio was a part of that first line is just slightly inaccurate. He was included, to be sure... but as an accessory for The Giant, better known to fans these days as The Big Show. He didn't really have a package number (or SKU, if you prefer) of his own. The figures had a relative sense of scale with one-another, but they were also all rather large men. As a result, the inclusion of Rey might be considered a dubious honor, thanks to his smaller stature. More so when you consider the same figure was repainted as a nameless "Masked Wrestler" included with Goldberg's figure for him to destroy.
