12 BRUTAL Wrestling Ribs That Made It To Live TV
2. Gerald Brisco Is Lent A Hand
Gerald Brisco had a weak disposition. Anything involving orifices, odours and bodily fluids made him violently ill.
Vince McMahon was fond of breaking wind. He was proud of his ability to do it loudly and at will. Jim Ross tells the story that he once tried to no-sell it on a car ride. Ross said it was nothing; Robert Gibson could do it better. An incensed, affronted Vince rolled up the windows and kept at it, just so Ross would react.
Vince once combined his two unconditional loves - gas, and being an utterly malevolent human being - by following through and chasing Brisco around the backstage area with his stained khaki trousers.
This incident lends credence to a certain theory.
In 2000, Mae Young, impregnated by her lover Mark Henry, gave birth. Her waters broke, if you can believe it, when Raw happened to be live on Monday night. As she lay on a makeshift bed, flatulence sound effects played over the scene. Fabulous Moolah said the word “Push! Push!” over and over again, which was probably the first time she ever said it. A wrench was passed to the doctor to force the baby out. Do you know that WWE once put itself forward for a Primetime Emmy award?
There was no baby; infamously, Mae Young gave birth to an adult-sized hand covered in jelly. Why? Vince thought it was a stitch.
Brisco was present during the delivery. He wasn’t a midwife, clearly. Was he there, purely so that he would vomit, which would amuse Vince no end?
There was a thick spool of saliva coming out of his heaving throat, so, like Kazuchika Okada in AEW, the rib half-worked.
