12 BRUTAL Wrestling Ribs That Made It To Live TV

10. Sunny’s Slop Bucket

Sunny was not enormously well-liked by the “boys” in the mid-1990s WWE scene. That might have something to do with the fact that she radiated more star power than 80% of them. She was the most downloaded star in the U.S.; they were so poor at their craft that the Fed was close to shuttering. Misogyny, jealousy and resentment simmered.

Tammy Lynn Sytch is a difficult subject - very, very far from a nice human being, but even farther from being well-adjusted - but she absolutely did not deserve what happened to her on the June 29, 1996 Superstars taping. There, the heel valet was taunting the Godwinns, two dire wrestlers who Vince McMahon promoted as “pig farmers”. As part of the act, they carried around a bucket of pig slop and, to get their own back, they poured the contents all over her.

It was revealed, on Dark Side of the Ring, that the Godwinns left the bucket unattended and told the boys about the planned angle. The locker room received the coded message; by the time the Godwinns were due in the ring, the concoction of milk and lettuce was overflowing with bodily fluids. This isn’t some damning insight that the boys were fearful of leaving the locker room; Phineas Godwinn (Dennis Knight) and the Undertaker actually laughed about it on an episode of the latter’s podcast in 2024. Without specifying, they said “every” fluid imaginable was deposited in the bucket.

Vince McMahon, on commentary, sounded like he was in a state of orgasmic bliss at the sight of her disgusting, degrading humiliation - a scene that becomes retrospectively harrowing, in light of Janel Grant’s lawsuit.

That might be an inaccurate description of the scene. It’s easy to infer, from the talk of “every” fluid, that this was not a rib; it was a sexual assault.
