12 Duos That Helped Changed Tag Team Wrestling Forver

7. Edge & Christian

One of the most relatable tag teams ever, these 7-time Tag Team Champions as a team composed of two childhood friends who wanted to be wrestlers when they grew up. Though they started off as relatively vanilla wrestlers, they eventually became one of the most hysterical and memorable comedy teams ever. With their similar looks and trademark €˜5-second poses€™, they found a niche by encouraging fans to take photos, and the audience loved their wacky antics (including their penchant for using the kazoo). It was almost as if they were anathema to the general theme of the Attitude Era. While most acts in WWE were gritty, adult-oriented and in some cases, dark, E&C demonstrated sophomoric, almost childish humor that helped them stand out as superstars. Of course, it also helped that they were skilled wrestlers who knew how to dish out punishment and how to take it. Over time, they became one of the most famous teams of all time, especially through their involvement in the now-legendary TLC matches. Like the Hardys and the Dudleys, Edge & Christian demonstrated their skill by putting together some of the most outstanding and high-risk gimmick matches in history. Whether they were portraying heel or face characters, it didn€™t matter; they were constantly getting cheered for their charisma and over-the-top antics. Even though both men went on to enjoy successful careers as singles stars, many fans look upon their tenure as a tag team with fond nostalgia, aware of the many times they shows how much they reeked of awesomeness.
