12 Greatest Ever Fictional Wrestlers

8. Mike Haggar - Final Fight

Years before Jesse Ventura, uh, ventured into politics, Final Fight's Mike Haggar was a pioneer for wrestlers in politics. After a championship career in the Capcom Wrestling Association, Haggar retired to run for the mayorship of Metro City. When gang violence proved indefatigable, he set out to make a difference with only his wrestling ability, a pair of olive green chinos and the kind of anger a public servant can muster.

Mayor Mike would be the sole constant throughout the Final Fight franchise (aside from mysteriously-occurring turkey dinners on the trash), appearing in every game in the series. There's just something magical about a character who, when faced with a literal army of street thugs, chooses to eschew firearms and simply murder all of them personally with pavement pile drivers. Haggar also got his own prequel series of games, which explored a simpler time in his life when his piledrivers came from a place of friendly competition, rather than ridiculously personal counterterrorism.
