12 Hilarious WWE Backstage Skits You Probably Don't Remember
3. He Lies, He Cheats, He Steals
Eddie Guerrero’s old classics are legendary for a reason, and modern stars continue to pay tribute to them to this day. Spots like the referee fakeouts, where he pretends to have taken an international object to the face from his hapless opponent behind the official’s back... or the variation where he actually drilled them, only to collapse to the canvas next to them, leading the nonplussed official to conclude that someone else had crept in and taken out both competitors.
That’s all gold - but everyone remembers that stuff. How about the number Latino Heat pulled on Ric Flair at the 2005 Royal Rumble?
Both men pulled their number, but Eddie got the number one spot, and the Nature Boy the number thirty. Guerrero’s solution is obvious - he hugs an unsuspecting Flair and swaps the numbers, stealing his wallet at the same time.
Watching segments like this reminds you of exactly how good, how thoroughly entertaining, Guerrero was as a character, not just as a wrestler - although, to be fair, Flair plays the bumbling patsy to the hilt here, unselfishly allowing Eddie’s hijinks to be the star of the show.
