12 Huge WWE Dream Matches That Were Supposed To Happen But Didn’t

3. Kurt Angle Vs The Undertaker (WrestleMania 22)

Eight years before Brock Lesnar ended The Streak Kurt Angle was set be the man to do it at WrestleMania 22 in 2006. According to Kurt, Undertaker requested to Vince that he push their match scheduled for No Way Out back a month to WrestleMania so that he could finally have a five-star match on the grandest stage of them all. Not only that, but he wanted Angle to beat him and break the streak. In an interview with The Sun in 2011 Angle revealed the booking plans at the time:
'Undertaker really wanted to have that match, he asked Vince to push our match back from No Way Out to WrestleMania and, since I was champion they wanted me to keep the title, Undertaker was willing to take the loss. To me that meant a lot because Undertaker had a lot of respect for me €” and I had more respect for him than he did for me'
'Taker instead wrestled wrestled Mark Henry in an an anachronistic casket match and Angle wrestled Rey Mysterio and Randy Orton in a match that lasted an insulting nine minutes. The Undertaker/Angle match from No Way Out remains something of a lost classic and it deserved to be seen at a WrestleMania.
