Neville's loss to Akira Tozawa on the go-home edition of Monday Night Raw represented a heartbreakingly abrupt end to his maiden reign with the title, so sensational as he was in his role as the ludicrous 'King Of The Cruiserweights'.

Carrying the division on his muscular back, Neville did absolutely everything required of him and then some as the flag-waver for the ailing league, and grew into his phenomenal heel role with aplomb as a result.

Eventually he had to lose of course, but like just about every opponent he's faced so far (with the arguable exception of Austin Aries), he was, in every sense, way above them all. Tozawa was no different, but hopefully, that was the point.

Rather than flipping the title back to the former Champion on Sunday, another victory over the previously dominant ruler of the lightweight league with give Titus O'Neil's client the best chance of making a genuine go of it in the stocky shadow of the prior titleholder.

For Neville, the saving grace from the loss will be genuine reward. His work deserves far bigger a spotlight than 205 Live or three minutes a week on Monday Night Raw can provide. Either show's midcard would benefit from his effortless brilliance.
