12 HUGE WWE SummerSlam Predictions You Need To Know
6. What's New Is New Again
The New Day and The Usos have been the shining light of SmackDown Live!'s woeful post-WrestleMania slump, with the blue brand's new boys dethroning Jimmy and Jey in the fabulous opener to July's Battleground pay-per-view in a sensational payoff to simmering tensions that had existed since Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods transferred over in April's Superstar Shake-up.
Somehow, the duos haven't yet succumbed to the enjoyment-sapping rule of retreads that ordinarily has audiences sitting on their hands for (in this case) the third pay-per-view meeting in as many months.
It could, and should, be the last battle however, and with the blue brand's tag division pathetically weak beyond the hilarious Fashion Police and AWOL Hype Bros, The New Day should have no problem continuing to try and top their record-setting reign until a new, more credible challenge emerges.
In defeat, The Usos would perhaps be the biggest beneficiaries of a move to Monday Night Raw in the rumoured roster switcheroo planned for the aftermath of the August classic. A heel turn early into 2016's brand split completely transformed their sagging fortunes, and new wars with The Hardy Boyz, Sheamus and Cesaro and The Revival would rapidly revitalise the former champions.
