Raw General Manager Kurt Angle's timing in delivering the news that Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose would challenge for the brand's tag team titles was typically convenient in the way only professional wrestling can be.

Current titleholders Sheamus and Cesaro had previously had the pair figured out, dishing out weekly beatings driven by unity in contrast to their rivals' bitter divide.

Though he's still failing to connect perhaps as WWE wants, Seth Rollins in particular has been a quiet success story for the company in 2017. His character has travelled a redemptive path throughout the year, recovering from yet another harshly timed injury, turning 'Kingslayer' at WrestleMania and now openly grieving his poor life choices in years gone by.

Ambrose too, has found meaning outside of working with The Miz, which was starting to become a noticeable dilemma for the 'Lunatic Fringe'. Losing the WWE Title last autumn marked a significant downward spiral, and only battles with 'The A-Lister' had kept him above water on either brand.

Finally landing on the exact same page as they fisted each other on the go-home edition of the flagship show, their collectivism can't be toppled, and the former 'Hounds Of Justice' will complete their separate journeys with glorious unified victory.
