12 Interesting Historical WWE Royal Rumble Facts

1. Best Royal Rumble Elimination Of All-Time

In the history of the Royal Rumble, there have been a total of 782 eliminations. There have been many dramatic eliminations, many jobbers thrown over the top rope, and also many hilarious eliminations. There have been hilarious quick ones such as Bushwacker Luke who never stopped doing his trademark march before during and after his couple of seconds in the match, Santino's record breaking elimination where he claimed he wasn't ready, and of course Drew Carey eliminating himself after nearly crapping his pants thanks to Kane. There have been a few entrants in the Rumble that have eliminated themselves such as the previously mentioned Drew Carey, and one of these self-eliminations was the best one of all time. We all know how imposing Andre The Giant is. He's one of the biggest wrestlers of all-time, but had one weakness that was his undoing in the 1989 Royal Rumble. Right in the middle of the match, Jake "The Snake" Roberts brought out Damien. As you can see in the photo above, guys like Greg Valentine, Mr. Perfect, and Shawn Michaels looked in awe as Andre moved as fast as he ever had and eliminated himself to get away from Damien.
