12 Interesting Historical WWE Royal Rumble Facts

2. After Just One Rumble, Roman Reigns Has The Best Chance At Another Record

Roman Reigns made an impact on his first ever Royal Rumble match in 2014 by breaking Kane's 2001 record of most eliminations in a single match. That night, he eliminated 12 wrestlers before being the last one to be eliminated by Batista. The interesting thing about kicking off your first rumble with 12 eliminations at age 29 is the fact that you're well on your way to breaking the record for the most eliminations all-time. The current record holder is Shawn Michaels at a total of 39 eliminations, but Kane is very close behind at 38. The rest of the top ten wrestlers for the most eliminations contains mostly non-active wrestlers except for John Cena with 22 and Randy Orton with 19. With John Cena being 37 and Randy Orton being 34, they may not be able to put a lot of distance between them and Roman Reigns once it is all said and done if Reigns continues at the pace that he started in 2014.
