12 Most Embarrassing Wrestler Debuts In WWE History

10. Edge

In his very first match in WWE, after weeks of mysterious vignettes, Edge broke his opponent's neck. Legitimately. He performed an ill-placed somersault poncha over the top rope onto Estrada at ringside, laying him out and rendering him completely incapacitated. The official had to change the result of the match to a count out because Estrada couldn't move. You can see how confused he looks when the referee started counting and Jose continued to just lie there. The disappointment on Edge's face was also easy to read, and it probably would have been a better idea for Edge to at least look like he knew what was going on. He could have sold it like he meant to injure Estrada, which would have fit nicely with his "tortured soul" character and those initial vignettes of him randomly assaulting bystanders on the street. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CX0IXdDEIKA Regardless, severely injuring your opponent for real has to be one of the worst possible way to enter the WWE. But Edge somehow managed to move beyond it and gain the trust of other wrestlers in the locker room, which was surely no small feat.
