12 Most Embarrassing Wrestler Debuts In WWE History

8. Lord Tensai

When an even moderately recognizable superstar returns to the industry after a prolonged absence and tries to rebrand himself with a new gimmick, it can be tough for audiences to accept. (Unless it's a Papa Shango/Godfather situation, where one character was so heavily painted/panned that no one noticed/cared.) So when a well-known guy like Albert returned to WWE after a few years in Japan, sporting samurai garb, Japanese symbols tattooed on his face, and wrestling the name Lord Tensai, fans saw fit to incessantly mock him from day one. Though his debut was supposed to be very mysterious and tense, it was undercut at every turn by the crowd chanting "Albert" and refusing to let his new character take hold. Then, becoming bored with this new face-tatted version of the former half of T&A, they switched to chanting "Daniel Bryan," who eagle-eyed fans might notice wasn't in the ring at the time. Then, to cap it all off, they booed his big finish. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S94cmL3Ylb0 A few short months later, Tensai was reduced to nothing more than a comedy act, having a dance-off with Brodus Clay while wearing lingerie.
