12 Most Memorable WrestleMania Returns Of All Time

10. Mr. Perfect And Roddy Piper - WrestleMania X

WrestleMania X had the big controversy over the number one contender for Yokozuna€™s WWF Championship. Both Lex Luger and Bret Hart had won the Royal Rumble, so President Jack Tunney decided that both men would get a shot at the championship at WrestleMania, and decreed that each title match would have a surprise special guest referee. Lex Luger had the first crack at Yoko, and the guest referee for his title match was Mr. Perfect, who hadn€™t been seen in the WWF since before Survivor Series the year prior. At this point, he was still a pretty big babyface, so he got a great reaction in Madison Square Garden. It wouldn€™t stay that way, as an inadvertent shove by Luger forced Perfect to disqualify him for touching an official, a controversial decision to say the least. Nothing ever came of it, as Perfect immediately went on a hiatus after the show. For Bret€™s title match, the guest referee was a bigger surprise, as Roddy Piper made his return after a two-year absence. He counted Yoko€™s shoulders down and raised Bret€™s hand as the new champion. Piper would briefly return to the WWF and got into a feud with Jerry Lawler which culminated at the King of the Ring (and was a strange choice to main event the show), before taking another hiatus. Both men returned to the WWF in late 1995/early 1996.
