12 Things You Didn't Know About WWE Champion Brock Lesnar
9. He Used To Regularly Use The Shooting Star Press
Lesnar's botched SSP in the main event of WrestleMania XIX is one of the most famous wrestling blunders of all time. It knocked Lesnar for a loop and left the star noticeably dazed. It could have been a lot worse, however, and Lesnar is deemed fortunate not to have broken his neck or ended up paralysed. Why would a three hundred pound man think it was a good idea to try one of the trickiest aerial moves in professional wrestling? Simple: he had done it perfectly countless times before. Lesnar regularly used the shooting star press when he was in OVW and footage exists of him performing it in WWE dark matches, too. When he moved to the big stage, Lesnar adopted the F5 to finish opponents instead. Performing a shooting star every night would have quickly eroded the big man's knees and significantly shortened his career. Brock only attempted the move at 'Mania under pressure from WWE officials who thought it would be a defining 'WrestleMania Moment'. He hasn't tried the move since.
