This is almost unbelievable.

The Ultimate Warrior appeared on a show that Rick was working. Grabbing the mic, he said that “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” and put Rio over as someone who possessed “Warrior intensity”. 'Dark Side' didn’t say when this show was, but it might’ve been the solitary dark bout that Rick worked for the WWF. He lost to Brooklyn Brawler on a 18 August 1993 card in Lowe, Massachusetts.

Obviously, that's a guess, because there wasn't really any further context given, and there aren't too many records of Wilson wrestling a ton of matches before he was signed to WCW. Cagematch has let us all down, lads. They clearly don't possess stunning levels of destrucity.

OK, back to being serious. This moment, wherever it was, meant a great deal to Rick. Kimberly said that he was in awe of a hero like Warrior, and that her husband felt like he was finally close to making some headway in an industry he loved. Behind the scenes, this was viewed as a soft passing of the torch between both men, but things didn't ever really pan out as intended.

Fair play to VICE for finding all of this out though, because Warrior appearing to put Rick over on the microphone isn't something that's come up too often (if at all) when people look back on The Renegade. Maybe that's because it happened before he was shaking ropes and helping out Hogan on WCW programming.

Little gems like this make 'Dark Side' so compelling.
