What do 'The Icon' and 'The Face that Runs the Place' both have in common?

Aside from being largely adored by kids all around the globe during the height of their popularity, it turns out that both John Cena and Sting hold the honour of being the only four-time winners of a pretty important award.

Voted for by readers of the respected Pro Wrestling Illustrated magazine, the annual PWI awards - which started all the way back in 1972 - contains a category known as the Most Popular Wrestler of the Year.

In other words, the greatest hero/babyface over the prior twelve months.

Cena managed to take home the award in 2004, 2005, 2007, and 2012, with 'Stinger' actually coming in third place during those 2007 rankings.

Sting's victories came in 1991, 1992, 1994, and 1997, highlighting exactly who WCW's top babyface hero was during the company's rise to becoming the biggest promotion in town for a time.

No one has won said award more than the two legends, with Jon Moxley, Hulk Hogan, and Dusty Rhodes coming closest with three victories each.

So, that settles it then. Both Cena and Sting are technically the most popular babyfaces in wrestling history. Because that's how these things work, right?
