12 Things You Learn Binge Watching Every WWE Raw From 2007

1. There’s No Way They’d Have Stuck To Vince’s “Death”

"I can't be on TV if I'm dead".

That was Vince McMahon's rationale behind the curtain ahead of a dramatic limousine explosion angle on the 11 June '07 edition of Raw. Bruce Prichard and other creative types stood slack-jawed as McMahon laid out his plan. He'd book his own demise and go out in a fiery blaze of glory, then he'd never be seen on WWE screens again.

Rubbish. Total rubbish. If anyone believed that, then this writer has some magic beans he'd like to sell them. Then, if a beanstalk does grow and you climb up it, even the giant at the top will belly laugh at mere suggestions Vince was going to remain off telly for longer than a few months. He'd have survived that kayfabe death, no doubt.

Not a chance WWE would've stuck to their plan. They'd have found some way to bring McMahon back into view. Guaranteed. Sure, the Chris Benoit tragedy changed everything and Vince felt like he had to front up tributes to then distancing from the Canadian, but he would've 100% become a regular TV character again at some point later in the year regardless.

It didn't matter how tired the boss was of WWE leaning on him onscreen - he was reliable because he was ever-present (as boss) and darn good at what he did. He'd have been back, Benoit tragedy or not.
