OK, back to some silly wrestling stuff.

If you had to guess what the first match on Raw in 2007 was, what would it be? Something from the tag division, perhaps? Nah, that was the second bout WWE put on. They had something totally out there for the first slot, but at least they had the sense to involve top star John Cena. It was his opponent that raised plenty of eyebrows amongst fans and industry critics.

Kevin Federline was big news back then due to his relationship with Britney Spears, but nobody had him on festive wishlists for the 'A' show on WWE's side. Nonetheless, Kev defeated Cena in the very first match on WWE’s flagship TV show to kick off the new year. No, that is not a joke. This actually happened, and it was unexpected to say the least.

Post-match, Melina and Maria bickered over who got to call him K-Fed, and that led to a match between the pair. Yeah, the women’s division was a different place back then! You wouldn't get Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill arguing over who got to affectionally call Jelly Roll "J-Roll" nowadays, put it that way.

Actually, nobody tell Triple H or Road Dogg about that. They'll stick it on SmackDown.

Somewhat incredibly, Federline...wasn't horrible in his role. WWE fans just didn't want to see it. They fancied seeing Cena tangling with proper wrestlers, not somebody who was only in the company for a giggle before hitting up TMZ for an interview about it.
