12 Things You May Have Missed From Last Night's WWE Raw (Jun 4)

10. Goodwill, Gone

Roman Reigns

Though Otunga's Pusha T reference was timely, nothing on Raw felt more forced than his insistence early on that Roman Reigns is, in his words, "the uncrowned Universal Champion."

WWE bigging 'The Big Dog' up is nothing new, but this is a crazy line. Maybe he is the guy who'll finally dethrone Brock Lesnar, but at the moment, Reigns is six-feet deep. His character is a failed sympathetic babyface one minute, an anti-authority "badass" the next, and a hapless goober in the space between. On top of this, he has just taken two absolute shellackings by Lesnar's hand on pay-per-view. Otunga couldn't have picked a worse time to drop this clanger, and while he was likely only regurgitating someone else's words, it was an immersion-breaker.

While we're used to such trash from the announce team, WWE should learn not to treat their audience like children by subjecting them to false narratives like this. Fat chance they'll ever change, though...
