12 Ups & 1 Down From Impact Wrestling (May 26)
8. Everyone Gets A Chance
Tag team wrestling in Impact is something that has really come to the forefront of the company in the last two to three years. Having the likes of The Latin American Xchange, The Lucha Bros, The Wolves, and current champs The North as faces of the division has helped this happen. Now, we've got two more tandems finally getting their proper chance to shine within Impact's doubles division.
Dez and Wentz of The Rascalz confronted TJP and Fallah Bahh in the interview area, both teams having traded wins in multi-man action. After some back and forth jabs at one another, a match was signed for next Tuesday to decide the next in line for The North's World Tag Team Championships, with Ethan Page and Josh Alexander just over a month away from being the reigning champions for a full year.
Simply put, this is great to see. While The Rascalz and the team of TJP and Fallah may be two of the higher ranked teams in the tag division at Impact, you don't often see them in the title picture. The latter of those two had a title match this past March - their first and only crack at the titles thus far - whereas Dez and Wentz haven't challenged for the gold since February, and even then that match came on one of Impact's Twitch specials, which rarely (if ever) interact with the 'main' Impact product.
Like with Cody Deaner on this episode, it's fantastic to see others getting their title opportunities instead of the same old, same old.
