12 Ups & 13 Downs For WWE In 2019 (So Far)

6. Rebuilding Bayley

A few missteps aside, 2019 has been a good year for Bayley.

Her first major triumph came when she and Sasha Banks took the Women's Tag Team Championships at Elimination Chamber. Disappointment followed when they dropped them at WrestleMania 35, then again when 'The Hugger' was flattened by Alexa Bliss the night after, but moving to SmackDown in the Superstar Shake-Up has sparked a singles rebirth that would've seemed impossible as 2018 turned into 2019.

Money In The Bank was Bayley's biggest night. There, she bested the likes of Ember Moon and Carmella to take the women's briefcase in the opening bout before returning later in the show. Charlotte Flair had just taken the SmackDown Women's Championship from Becky Lynch via Lacey Evans interference. With the two heels beating 'The Man' down, Bayley emerged to a massive pop, ran the villains down, and chased-in, ending Flair's reign just minutes after it had begun.

Bayley has since found a new voice as a character, with her personality stronger and more assertive than ever before. The spineless Raw jellyfish is gone, the real Bayley is back, and it's awesome.
