12 Ups & 2 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary 2021
9. This Is Slammiversary
While not technically anything new, the epic This Is Slammiversary special that aired following IMPACT Wrestling's latest AXS TV broadcast was played again as part of the pay-per-view's pre-show. If you hadn't seen it prior - this writer hadn't, at least - it set you right up for IMPACT's first show back in front of fans.
Having current stars like Sami Callihan, Rich Swann, the Good Brothers, and hell, even Petey Williams and Chris Sabin speaking about moments like the debuts of Sting, Kurt Angle, and Christian Cage, Callihan mentioning how Abyss helped him tremendously, and the impact of Slammiversary 2020 created the absolute perfect tone for the event. IMPACT Wrestling, as a promotion, clearly means the world to all involved; Eric Young noted the comradery shown in IMPACT simply doesn't exist anywhere else.
Aside from that, the rest of the package focused on Kenny Omega and Sami Callihan's World Championship main event. Video packages like this go a long way in aiding new viewers to familiarise themselves with the ongoing product. Good stuff from IMPACT's video team here.
