12 Ups & 2 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary 2021

8. Starting Off Right

Demoting the Knockouts Tag Team Championships match to the pre-show essentially removed any possibility of an IIconics debut, however, Havok, Rosemary, Kiera Hogan, and Tasha Steelz bounced perfectly off the energy of the live audience to produce a decent bout.

A neat Rosemary exploder suplex early on was a highlight prior to Fire N Flava taking control, with Tasha Steelz being the easy start of the match. Her Crossbody to ringside on Rosemary and Crazzy Steve was followed by 'The Demon Assassin' wiping her clean out with a Spear that quite literally sent Steelz halfway across the ring. Once Tasha had been taken care of, Kiera Hogan found herself dropped with a Tombstone Piledriver from Havok to crown Decay the new Knockouts Tag Team Champions.

Because Havok was officially made a Decay member this past Thursday, it felt like a title change was inescapable. You're immediately promoting Havok and Rosemary as a full-time team by doing such a thing - which is far from a negative thing - but it did result in their winning of the titles being inescapable. Still, they did so in a great match where everyone got a chance to shine. A solid pre-show bout all around.
